The bug disappeared with one of the latest updates, i.e. with kernel 4.4.0-12-generic this problem doesn't appear anymore. Everything works fine, except for the external screen ports on the dock. When I plug in an external screen to the DVI or DisplayPort, the system freezes. I've attached a screenshot of the errors I get. The setup was working fine in Windows 10. The HDMI port on the laptop works fine.
