[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1574930] [NEW] kernel 4.4.0-22 Nvidia drivers 340.96 & 304.131 fail to build
Public bug reported: Using Yakkety Yak. Received today's (26/04/2016) update which included kernel 4.4.0-22. Using Nvidia driver 340.96 which failed to build causing the restart to load to a low resolution login screen with login bounce. Purged Nvidia and loaded with Nouveau and tried with Nvidia 304.131 and have got the same error. Video Adapter GT220 considered obsolete by Nvidia & not supported by newest Nvidia drivers. This is the reason I am using older Nvidia drivers. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1092246] Re: Unresponsive after basic operations such as seek.
Pressing Next or Pause/Play without a sufficient interval of time, or trying to move the track further along in the stream causes the application window panel to go grey and a Force Quit is required to close the program. I am of the opinion that closing and opening the application is not sufficient to remove any left-overs from the unresponsive situation. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1041354] Re: unity-panel-service since yesterday uses ~100% CPU when libreoffice-gtk is installed and enabled
I have this on a fresh install from the 29/08/2012 ISO image. Using the top command and system monitor i saw that when Libreoffice (Writer) is loaded it loads soffice.bin and something called unity-panel-ser. Close Libreoffice and unity-panel-ser disappears from the top readout. When unity-panel-ser firsts loads it uses 30% CPU and 3% MEM. After 1 minute it is at 99% CPU and 8% MEM. After 10 minute it is at 97-100% CPU and 24% MEM. It is running 1 core of this dual core CPU at 100% and the memory usage is increasing. At this point the desktop is not updating and applications windows cannot be closed nor are the menu options available. It takes a hard re- set to shutdown the system. This is with Libreoffice 3.6.0.2 Build ID: 360m1 (Build 102). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 930491] Re: Large memory leak in nm-applet
I have the same problem. The top command shows nm-applet starting below 2% memory usage of 1GB memory and slowly rising over time. I have recorded nm-applet memory usage at plus 26% of 1GB of RAM. At plus 9% memory usage the network app indicator menu becomes unresponsive. It is not possible to disconnect either the wired or wireless connection, or disable networking or wireless. Clicking on these lines in the menu has no effect. It is still possible to disconnect using the slider options in the System Settings Network utility but once switched off by using that utility wired or wireless connections cannot be switched back on using the network app-indicator menu but only by the System Settings Netwrok utility. Furthermore, if the menu is left open it blinks out of existence and then re-appears and does this frequently but not rapidly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930491 Title: Large memory leak in nm-applet Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In an up-to-date precise install, memory usage by nm-applet climbs rapidly to hundreds of Mb within an hour after it's started.
