(In reply to Karsten from comment #35) > It would be nice if the standard behaviour of the software would not be > touched and enhancements are always optional to be used. Standard behavior is not clearly defined but you are right, and we do our best. In this case scroll lock was implemented as a standard. More questionable is the second part with everything being optional. Let's better decide on every change whether it make sense to bloat the options, even when it's an advanced setting. It is bad usability if you a) have to change an option, and b) struggle to find it. > That's the reason why i am still using Version 7.1.8.1... You miss a lot of goodies :-). The key and the implementation actually work well but, as commented before, some hardware abuses it for other purpose. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1093765]
Why do you expect attributes to be consistent when switching from one style to another? If your default paragraph uses a (directly applied) italic font style it will be removed when switching to any other style. We could turn this question around and ask what you expect when switching from one style to another. Meaning whether all or just the different attributes should be overwritten. Let's say the text is Text Body with the special attribute italic (whether set directly or via style modification doesn't matter). Switching to Heading 1 could mean you expect the font size larger and the bold weight to be applied - in addition to the italic weight. This does not solve the use case to explicitly switch off an attribute, eg. H1 in bold but H2 not. (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #14) > Complex stuff, and requires major refactoring of Calc needing some UX > envisioning. What exactly? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1126858]
Clearly a bug to me, deleted content is still gone even when TC is on (comment 19, option 1). Don't see need for input from UX. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1126858 Title: [upstream] Search and replace, with tracked changes on, changing only format of text, causes Writer to hang Status in LibreOffice: Confirmed Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Create new text document with contents "Hello, World". Turn on change tracking (under Edit). Select Find and Replace (under Edit). Put "Hello" (no quotes) in both the find and the replace boxes. Click on "More". Put cursor in Replace box. Click on Format. Set it to, say Italic (leave other options empty). Accept. And now, for the fatal part: Click "Replace all". If you just replace one, you'll see why the latter fails. The replacement value gets inserted beofre the original, so then it continues on and sees the original again... ad infinitum. What should happen: If it just put its position after the original text when searching and replacing, it wouldn't have this problem. "Shift before"... I wouldn't understand this command. So let's not make compromises. I'm pretty sure we can evaluate LTR/RTL and update the command label and the various captions accordingly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1141034 Title: RTL Spreadsheet Insert Cells Status in LibreOffice: Confirmed Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When using a right-to-left spreadsheet, right clicking and selected "insert cells" shows the normal LTR option to shift cells right, although when used it actually shifts cells left. I believe that shifting cells left is the correct behaviour in this case, but the text of the option should be changed to read "shift cells left". This was first noticed when using the Hebrew language user interface, but the problem is present when using English UI too. (In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #4) > (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #3) > > How about "Shift forward" and backward for left/right? > Sounds ok. Is forward to the right in LTR? Would be my understanding but the drawback of not perfectly terms with forward/backward instead of left/right is clear. In Writer we use Left/Top, Right/Bottom for paragraph style > alignment depending on horizontal/vertical direction. The dynamic label might be not so easy to implement.
