[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1080591] Re: shotwell fails to authenticate with non-primary address

2019-01-11 Thread Jens Georg
I think the original report was against the UOA implementation which
does no longer exist anyway

shotwell fails to authenticate with non-primary address

Bug description:
I am trying to export some pictures from Shotwell to my Picasa
account. I select Picasa from the "publish" list, and push the button
to authenticate. I am asked for password, which I enter. I am then
told that "Authentication failed". Subsequent attempts go directly to
"Authentication failed", and there is no apparent way to enter the
  password again.

(I thought this was due to me logging in with a non-gmail address, and
it seemed to work when I changed to the gmail one, but now it fails
  again)

  Further suggestions:

  1) Shotwell should be more informative about the Authentication
Failure, and report what exactly is wrong. I thought I had mistyped
the password, and then it's frustrating not to be offered the
  opportunity to retype it.

  2) The login dialog should offer a direct link or pointer to the
accounts settings, now I need to select "Add an account" from the drop
  down.

  3) Incidentally, removing accounts doesn't work, in the end I had to
disable two (non-working) instances of Google account configurations.

  Shotwell version 0.13.0-0ubuntu3, on Ubuntu 12.10, 64bit.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1314904] [NEW] Remote publishing does not work in GNOME/XFCE on trusty

2014-05-01 Thread Jens Georg
Public bug reported:

When selecting another publishing destination than Piwigo, the dialog
closes itself.

In the console the following output can be seen:

21:38 z4nD4R (shotwell:12245): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
g_app_info_get_commandline: assertion 'G_IS_APP_INFO (appinfo)' failed
21:38 z4nD4R (shotwell:12245): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_spawn_command_line_async:
assertion 'command_line != NULL' failed

This is due to the UOA integration patch which is not installed on XFCE
or GNOME flavour.

Either the dependencies need to be fixed or a non-*OA version needs to
be provided.

  gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Fedora:
  Unknown

Bug description:
I don't know how to reproduce this bug, but after varying amounts of
normal usage of my laptop, I notice gnome-settings-daemon is consuming
  100% (approx) CPU.

I am not sure how to restart gnome-settings-daemon, I tried opening a
terminal and running gnome-settings-daemon again but this crashes my
system - my external monitor switches off and my laptop locks up. I am
  able to reboot with SysRq+REISUB.

Sorry I cannot provide more information - it happens twice now, maybe
someone can tell me how to get more information for the next time this
  happens.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 960214] Re: Encodebin transcoding from MKV to MPEG2 fails

2012-04-26 Thread Jens Georg
With the syncing of rygel-0.14 to universe this is kind-of important now
as it basically breaks transcoding completely.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 960214] Re: Encodebin transcoding from MKV to MPEG2 fails

2012-04-26 Thread Jens Georg
Actually the issue is the transcoding to mpeg. The reason seems that in
contrast to upstream, the mpeg2enc plugin and the ffenc_mpeg2video habe
the same rank secondary; encodebin seems to select the mpeg2enc plugin
then which causes the issue. Moving
/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstmpeg2enc.so out of the way makes
transcoding work again.
