Title:
Shell keyboard navigation (after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Tab) doesn't work
  in Xorg sessions

Status in GNOME Shell:
  Unknown
Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
As of 2 days ago, I can no longer quickly get to system controls such
as the Top Bar using the keyboard. According to the keyboard
shortcuts settings window, I should be able to press "CTRL+Alt+Tab" to
access these controls. When I press this key combination, I'm told by
the Orca screen reader that I'm on the Top Bar. When I release the
keys, focus jumps back to the window I was in before. I do not know if
this is the case without Orca running. I'm unable to test without Orca
running. I've reset Gnome settings, with no change.

as the Top Bar using the keyboard.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 997899] Re: Ubuntu accessibility packages such as at-spi2 and gnome-orca should have touch screen support

2018-07-25 Thread Jeremy Lincicome
** Description changed:

With Ubuntu making a move tward phones and tablets, accessibility needs
to be taken into account. The accessibility stack should allow a totally
blind person to access and explore the contents on screen without
needing a physical keyboard. Accessibility related commands will need to
be mapped to touch gestures. For example, opening the Orca preferences

Orca working again, I have to force close the app with Alt+f4. There are parts
of the control center that I can use, such as the sound and VPN settings, only

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Launch Orca by pressing Alt+Super+s.
  2. Press the super key, and type "settings" into the search box.

Bug description:
When I choose either Create disk image or Restore disk image from the menu
next to the drive I want to work with, I'm able to select the path where I want
the image created or restored from. However, when the password dialog appears,
asking me to confirm the operation, I'm unable to read the dialog with Orca.
Also, the password dialog appears to completely crash the screen reader. The
only way for me to regain screen reader output is to get sighted assistance to
cancel the dialog, then use Alt+super+s to restart Orca. The password dialog
read fine in 17.04.
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Start the screen reader by pressing Alt+Super+s.
  2. Open Disks from the overview search box.
  3. Find a drive to image by using the Up and Down arrow keys in the treeview
that appears.
  4. Press the Tab key until you hear the screen reader say "menu", then press
Enter to open it.
  5. Use the Down arrow key to find "Create Disk Image", then press Enter to
open it.
  6. Type a name for your image in the edit box, and make sure the combobox is
set to the path where you want the image saved.
  7. Tab to the "Start Creating..." button and press Enter.
  What happens?:
At this point, I hear nothing from Orca, and my laptop's fan races as if the
CPU is under heavy load.

The password dialog should be readable by Orca, and should not cause Orca to

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1080492] Re: While using Orca, file opporations window becomes inaccessible.

2014-03-24 Thread Jeremy Lincicome
1. copy a few folders from your music folder to your home folder. One GB
or more would work best.
2. Replace the folders/files you copied back into your music folder. You
will get the replace file dialog. That dialog should read fine. After
you accept the dialog, you get the copy progress dialog. If you try to
use flat review to read the window, Orca will either say "blank" or
"filler." The current file being copied, file size, percent of progress,
and remaining time should be read by Orca when using flat review.

2012-11-18 Thread Jeremy Lincicome
I must have hit the limit on the number of lines you can have in a
report. If I restart Orca, sometimes the window becomes readable again.
Other times, I have to hard reboot my system.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 921342] Re: crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_widget_get_ancestor()gnome control center cra

2012-03-16 Thread Jeremy Lincicome
I can reproduce this bug with the latest updates on 12.04 64 bit. I noticed the
crash when trying to change settings in the privacy dialog.
1. Go to System settings.
2. Click onn Privacy.
3. Try to make a change to the settings on the files tab.
It might take several tries to cause a crash. The crashes are random.

Title:
Navigation keyboard shortcuts should be set for window management

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Keybindings such as Alt+F4 and Alt+Tab aren't working. In keyboard
shortcuts, "Switch windows" and "Close window"are both disabled. At
least those keybindings should be enabled. Without those keybindings,
navigation for a screen reader user is a challenge.
