[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1510970] Re: Intel driver crashes on Ubuntu 15.10

2015-11-04 Thread Johannes Merkert
I updated the kernel to 4.3 today but still got two crashes since then.

I also created /etc/mkinitcpio.conf and put "i915" in the file but that
did not change anything.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1510970] Re: Intel driver crashes on Ubuntu 15.10

2015-11-02 Thread Johannes Merkert
Today I had a scenario where I could reproduce the Bug: I opened
LibreOffice Writer and inserted areas into the document. The first one
always worked but when I created the second area the X-server crashed.

I also noticed that apport took longer with each crash. After the third
crash I always killed apport because it prevented me for more than 30s
to log in again.

Could you give some update on the status of this bug? Is somebody from Intel
working on this?
I have to downgrade to an older Ubuntu version if this bug can't be fixed soon.

** Description changed:

The Xserver crashes randomly after upgrading to Ubuntu 15.10. Before the
  update everything was stable.

The problem occured mostly while using Thunderbird but also once while
  using Firefox.

The Xserver crashes and I'm logged out. It takes about 10 seconds until
gdm fires up again and I'm able to login again.

The last part of /var/log/Xorg.0.log says:
