** Package changed: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) => linux-signed-hwe- edge (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1764127 Title: frequent crashes during boot on Ryzen 3 2200G Status in linux-signed-hwe-edge package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Most of the time when booting Ubuntu 18.04 (beta) on my recently bought Ryzen 3 2200 G (Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-7A34/B350 PC MATE (MS-7A34), BIOS A.C0 03/08/2018) computer it crashes. Sometimes it boots OK and I do not encounter (major) problems (see below). Booting in recovery mode works fine (always, as far as I can tell) but then I get only 1024x768 graphics. When it hangs during boot, I sometimes see a message: fb: switching to amdgpudrmfb from EFI VGA. When boots OK and seems to work OK I frequently see messages in the dmesg output: [ 1480.928786] pcieport :00:01.2: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, id=000a(Transmitter ID) [ 1480.928793] pcieport :00:01.2: device [1022:15d3] error status/mask=1000/6000 [ 1480.928797] pcieport :00:01.2:[12] Replay Timer Timeout [ 1495.262748] pcieport :00:01.2: AER: Corrected error received: id=0008 [ 1495.262757] pcieport :00:01.2: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, id=000a(Transmitter ID) [ 1495.262764] pcieport :00:01.2: device [1022:15d3] error status/mask=1000/6000 [ 1495.262768] pcieport :00:01.2:[12] Replay Timer Timeout Also messages like [1.240481] WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 168 at /build/linux-18ur8S/linux-4.15.0/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/dcn10/dcn10_resource.c:1322 construct+0x96e/0x9b0 [amdgpu] [1.240485] Modules linked in: amdkfd amd_iommu_v2 amdgpu(+) chash i2c_algo_bit ttm drm_kms_helper syscopyarea sysfillrect sysimgblt fb_sys_fops i2c_piix4 drm r8169 mii ahci libahci wmi video [1.240499] CPU: 3 PID: 168 Comm: systemd-udevd Not tainted 4.15.0-15-generic #16-Ubuntu [1.240502] Hardware name: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1764127] [NEW] frequent crashes during boot on Ryzen 3 2200G
Public bug reported: Most of the time when booting Ubuntu 18.04 (beta) on my recently bought Ryzen 3 2200 G (Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-7A34/B350 PC MATE (MS-7A34), BIOS A.C0 03/08/2018) computer it crashes. Sometimes it boots OK and I do not encounter (major) problems (see below).
