[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1643871] Re: Running Firefox (Version 50.0+build2-0ubuntu0.16.04.2) with xrdp -> result: wrong colors, also for the interface

2017-01-11 Thread Jonathan Thomas
I was having this issue as well against 16.04.

But changing the colors down to 16-bit instead of the 32-bit full color
in the rdp client 'fixed' it.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1065155] Re: Flash doesn't work after upgrading it with Muon

2012-10-13 Thread Jonathan Thomas
If the http_proxy environment variable is set but empty, python's urllib
craps its pants and tries to concatenate a string with a NoneType
object:

Traceback (most recent call last):

fp = self.open(url, data)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/urllib.py", line 201, in open

That's what is causing the bug.

  Workaround for enabling systray in unity below should (but does not) work.
  ---
  $ sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

  Once the installation is completed, type 'dconf-editor' in either the
  Alt+F2 launcher, or the Terminal to start the DConf Editor.

  In the DConf Editor, go to: desktop --> unity --> panel

  Change the systray-whitelist key from the default to ['all']

  This will re-enable the Notification Area icons back in the Unity panel. Note
that you may need to log out and back in to be sure the change is properly
applied.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 704105] Re: Resize grip always appears in bottom right of GTK+2.0 windows

Title:
  Resize grip always appears in bottom right of GTK+2.0 windows

Status in “gtk+2.0” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Since a recent update, in a non-maximised GTK+2.0 window, a resize
  grip will always appear in the bottom right of the window. This causes
  problems with applications which use the bottom right of the screen,
  such as Firefox pop-up windows for video content where the bottom
  right of the window is obscured and looks out of place and the
  Audacious media player where the total time of a playlist is obscured,
  to give two examples.

  I have included pictures of the problem. As the saying goes, a picture
  tells a thousand words.

  I use KDE with only essential GTK packages installed and the Oxygen
  GTK engine to integrate GTK apps into the Oxygen KDE theme. The same
  problem occurs with the Raleigh GTK engine. I am also using Kubuntu
  Natty Alpha 1 with libgtk2.0-0 version 2.23.90-0ubuntu4.

  What should happen: No resize grab should show in the window, as
  previous behaviour.

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
  Package: libgtk2.0-0 2.23.90-0ubuntu4
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.37-12.26-generic 2.6.37

  ProcEnviron:
   LANGUAGE=
   LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
   SHELL=/bin/bash

  Workaround
  ==

  Edit ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 and add:

  -
  style "default-style"
  {
    GtkWindow::resize-grip-height = 0
    GtkWindow::resize-grip-width = 0
  }

  class "GtkWidget" style "default-style"

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1002418] [NEW] check-language-support suggests language-pack-gnome-* for kde apps

2012-05-21 Thread Jonathan Thomas
Public bug reported:

language-selector 0.79, Kubuntu 12.04.

E.g.:

jonathan@jonathan-desktop:~$ check-language-support -l en kiconedit

Not sure why amarok's help package is showing up for kiconedit either,

Status in “plasma-widget-menubar” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  As another user mentioned below, the problem gets somewhat better if
  you switch off of Firefox and come back, but it has persisted through
  Firefox 10 and into FIrefox 11. Even when it is acting "better" it
  still exhibits some strange behavior. I have attached a screen shot
  showing this.

  I don't think it's a KDE problem, because it works perfectly with all
  other applications. QT/KDE apps work fine, GIMP, Pidgin, and other GTK
  apps work fine. WxWidgets-based apps (such as Filezilla) work just
  fine, and so does the LibreOffice. I have no idea exactly what is
  going on, nor how to describe it. Sometimes buttons get "stuck" or a
  menu randomly remains open. Often, clicking off of the menu does not
  cause it to go away.

  Please let me know if there is anything that you would like me to try.

Invalidating kde-workspace task since kde-window-manager lacks a postrm.
The issue is with gtk-update-icon-cache when it is called in the update
trigger for hicolor-icon-theme.

kde-window-manager's postinst doesn't invoke gtk-update-icon-cache.
