[Desktop-packages] [Bug 152279] Re: Totem gets aspect ratio wrong when the monitor is rotated
Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Kernel 4.15.0-58-generic Totem 3.26.0 Wrong ratio when video opened on rotated (pivot) monitor - issue still exists. PS. If I move Totem window from rotated monitor to another, not rotated one and open video, ratio is correct. I can then move app window to the rotated monitor and it's still with correct ratio. Workaround but only if you have another not rotated monitor attached. Side note: checked recent VLC and the issue is not present with it. Cheers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152279 Title: Totem gets aspect ratio wrong when the monitor is rotated Status in totem package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Binary package hint: totem I use a pivot monitor. When I rotate the screen with xrandr -o left or Grandr, totem gets the aspect ratio wrong. For instance a 4:3 film is shown as 3:4, that means higher than wide. It is also not possible to correct the aspect ratio from the GUI menu. New video thumbnails are also distorted, however in the other direction: They become much wider than hig. Kaffeine shows the same buggy behaviour as Totem, while VLC doesn't. VLC gets the aspect ratio right. This bug was also not there in Feisty. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1437377] [NEW] Upowerd eats 100% memory
Public bug reported: I'm having this issue since Ubuntu 14.04. Now I'm on 14.10. Gnome-shell 3.14.3 Kernel 3.16.0-29-generic x86_64 UPower client version 0.99.1 UPower daemon version 0.99.1 Almost every single day I have an issue with upowerd process(es). Suddenly upowerd process(es) eats 100% memory, system freezes due to memory lack. I have a 16GB of RAM and upowerd can eat ANY amount. I think I have seen similar problem reported while ago, unfortunately I cannot find it right now. If you find it please set this topic as duplicate. Anyway - I am looking for a solution. It's a nightmare getting my system freezed every day... [Desktop-packages] [Bug 517021] Re: gvfsd-metadata causes 100% CPU usage
Any new fixes? Bug still exists on Ubuntu 14.04.1 x86_64, gnome-shell 3.12, kernel 3.16. Including frequent bug with upowerd (consuming 100% RAM) once a day in average I lose 100% RAM or CPU o_0 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517021 Title: gvfsd-metadata causes 100% CPU usage Status in gvfs package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gvfs package in Debian: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: gvfs My disk space was really full at one moment, no byte left free. People say, that does corrupt the files in the ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata folder, so the gvfsd-metadata can't read it without being screwed up. Workaround: run "rm -rf ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata" Expected results: gvfsd-metadata should be able to handle the no space left situation. --- Original description --- After installing 9.10 Ubuntu 64bit browsing and opening folder in nautilus or Gnome-commander take several minutes when there are many files in it e.g. 10.000. Interestingly Midnight-commander does not have this problem. Opening such folders does not hang with MC. Using "top" i can see that "gvfsd-metadata" is using 100% CPU and when i kill it the computer stops "hanging". I am using the 32bit version of Karmic too and there is no such Problem (although tested on a different computer). Please fix this because it is highly annyoing. Right now i am killing it every 20s with the watch command to be able to work at all.
