[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1622166] Re: network manager cannot unlock the USB 3G modem
I tried to unlock the modem with mmcli and it looks like partially worked. mmcli -m returned: 'successfully connected the modem' and the modem led blinking indicates 3G connection. However, in the settings menu I can still see "Mobile Broadband Off" and no Internet works. When I try to choose "Mobile Broadband Connect" (assuming that the modem is now unlocked) I get nothing. I also get nothing now when I choose "Mobile Broadband Settings" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1622166 Title: network manager cannot unlock the USB 3G modem Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After inserting USB 3G modem it is visible in the system: :~$ nmcli d DEVICE TYPE STATECONNECTION wlp3s0 wifi connectedcoelinet4 enp0s25 ethernet unavailable -- ttyHS1 gsm unavailable -- lo loopback unmanaged-- however no connection can be created. Public bug reported: I took a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 on Lenovo Thinkpad T420 with Nvidia NVS Mute microphone button works fine. Also muting in the sound settings switches the led indicator on the button on and off as expected. I installed nvidia driver 331 required by CUDA toolkit. Restart.
