[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1879453] Re: gnome-shell crashes with SEGV in gvc_mixer_card_get_profile() from gvc_mixer_ui_device_get_active_profile() when Bluetooth headphone (Sony WH-1000XM3) is disconnec

2020-05-19 Thread Manuel Carro
Thanks for the tip. I uninstalled the "Sound Input & Output Device
Chooser" extension and it does not seem to crash when disconnecting now.

I suppose I should get in touch with the extension's developer and file
a bug?

gnome-shell crashes with SEGV in gvc_mixer_card_get_profile() from

  (Sony WH-1000XM3) is disconnected

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:

  - Connect bluetooth headphone to ubuntu 20.04 laptop.
  - Disconnect (using blueman or switching off headphone)
  - gnome-shell crashes. It restarts under X11, and goes to login screen under
Wayland.
  - Was working fine in ubuntu 19.10

  - Same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
shell/+bug/1879044 -- I am submitting a new bug to provide additional
  crash information, as requested.

The cause maybe not gnome-shell itself, but this where it manifests.

It may of course be a bluetooth bug, but when I tried to submit it as an
audio/sound-related problem, I could not characterize it correctly.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1635856] Re: cupsd 2.2.0-2 crashed with SIGABRT in __malloc_assert()

2016-10-24 Thread Manuel Carro
I have (apparently) solved the problem. In several printer definitions
printers.conf had a long (some 4000 chars?) configuration line (see at
the end of this message). There were recurring errors in cups/error_log
stating "Unknown configuration directive" which I had not noticed. I
removed the (offending?) printer entries by hand and it seemed to work
(tested in my home printer). The rest of the printers (even the ones I
removed by hand) seem to be available now. I can see them in the
printing dialogs and in the system printer configuration. But the
entries I removed (or very similar ones) are back in printers.conf, and
now I can stop and re what start cupsd.

One of the entries that cups/error_log complained about is:

Info HP Designjet T520 36in
\\

\

\

\
 \\

Hope this helps!

Cheers.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1098213] Re: [arrandale] False GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x02000000

2013-02-15 Thread Manuel Carro
I am running 13.04 development version up to date with kernel

3.8.0-6-generic #13-Ubuntu SMP Thu Feb 14 17:23:12 UTC 2013 i686 i686
i686 GNU/Linux

When I log in into an Ubuntu session I get lots (well, 5 or so) of GPU
hang-related apport messages and then at some point it stops. They
don't reappear after resuming, as happened to other people. However, if
I log in a KDE session (also up to date), I get no apport messages.

Also, I am not experiencing GPU-related hangs (or, for the matter, no
hangs at all). ccsm crashes if I try to start it, but I guess that's
another problem.
