The other card isn't affected (CA0106) and is working fine with external speakers. I also tried with a plug and play usb soundcard (USB PnP Sound Device). also not affected and is working (as expected I guess). Tried restarting. Tried playing around with alsamixer and pavucontrol. Public bug reported: attached is a picture with just some text to give an idea how it looked like. It didn't keep steady. it seemed to "fade" and become like that. when refreshed (by highlighting it with the mouse for example) it seemed to become clearer .. then fade back to ugly. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1341167] Re: freezes while draging a window from a workspace
I though about it but I don't really think it's related to some package (other than those defaults responsible for display or something like that.) ...I can try to explain more; It's not that the computer hangs because of RAM or because of heavy processor duty. It's kind of a glitch. When it happens, the processor lamp isn't busy (isn't flickering quickly, but instead just flickers once in about 5 seconds). Actually the bug can happen with just Google Chrome open. It can even happen without "expo mode". The mouse can move freely but Ubuntu doesn't comply to its commands. Sometimes, when the bug happens, the mouse has the shape of "the closed fist" and the shape wouldn't go back to normal. (the closed fist is the mouse shape you get when you drag any window anywhere). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1341167 Title: freezes while draging a window from a workspace Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu froze while trying to drag a window from one workspace to another. happens alot.
