[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1163184] Re: New upstream microreleases 9.1.9, 8.4.17
I don't see why the urgency is set to "low" here. The news entry on the PostgreSQL website states clearly "All users of the affected versions are strongly urged to apply the update *immediately*." [Desktop-packages] [Bug 971322] Re: Unity-2D/metacity window placement/move problems in precise
Correction: window edge resistance doesn't work between ordinary windows when using oneiric's Metacity in precise, but smart window placement works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to metacity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971322 Title: Unity-2D/metacity window placement/move problems in precise Status in “metacity” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I've upgraded oneiric to precise (32 bit). One annoying problem is the window placement/moving policy now. In oneiric this worked (I am using Unity-2D, so metacity, composing manager/effects are enabled) very well. If I open a new window, it will be placed "stacked" on existing window (eg if I open a new terminal (usually I have to open more of them), even if there is lots of "free" space on the workspace. So, I think metacity in oneiric tries to use available 'free' screen space, which is not true for oneiric. Another annoying thing is the window border "resistance". In oneiric, if I move a window, there is need for a little "push more" action to be able to move window when border is at another window's border. It's a great help to align windows in a nice way. In precise, this does not work, or at least it behaves oddly: if I move a window towards another horizontally this _is_ this effect, however not at the border but _before_ it! There is a huge space, probably the same size as the Unity launcher bar, is it possible, that positions are miscalculated? I am using "auto hide" for Unity. There is similar problem vertically however the "gap" is smaller, and I have no idea if there is some relation of the size of the gap and any other thing. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 977438] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic panel displayed on full screen videos
I have reproduced this problem with the Gnome Classic desktop In fullscreen mode this occurs on the change of minute and seems to be caused by the clock applet. However, when viewing in windowed mode, any action on the desktop e.g. clicking on the Application menu, passing the mouse over the window list or clicking a button to take the screenshot will cause vlc to expand its window vertically to fit the screen I hope this is of some assistance. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2012-04-24 11:39:35 - Windowed.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/977438/+attachment/3101078/+files/Screenshot%20from%202012-04-24%2011%3A39%3A35%20-%20Windowed.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/977438 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic panel displayed on full screen videos Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: On Ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic, the gnome panel will always display when playing videos on full screen mode. Gnome panel should disappear, instead it's still displayed. Attached screenshot. Edit: It behaves like this even when playing videos locally with a media player such as vlc. The gnome panel initially disappears but reappears after a couple of seconds. As a workaround before playing any videos on full screen, set the gnome panel to hidden.
