[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1901157] Re: [Raven/Raven2/FireFlight/Renoir AMD Ryzen] No Sound at all

2020-11-08 Thread Nikola Snele
Hi, installing older packages

sudo dpkg -i libasound2_1.2.2-2.1ubuntu2_amd64.deb
libasound2-data_1.2.2-2.1ubuntu2_all.deb

fixed sound issues on my Lenovo Ideapad 5 14are05 with Ryzen 4500u.

Please release fix asap, this is a huge bug (to lose sound after
update).

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1451276] Re: No mouse over highlight in libreoffice menus in Kubuntu

2016-01-22 Thread Nikola Snele
Kubuntu devs doesn't seem to follow this bug.

Btw I asked them few times last couple years about shipping libreoffice-gtk
instead of buggy libreoffice-kde, but they seemed not interesed.

You can ask them yourself in kubuntu-devel irc channal
 on freenode.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1002978] Re: [meta-bug] Inverted Internal microphone (phase inversion)

2015-10-10 Thread Nikola Snele
Can confirm the bug on Lenovo g50-80.

Alsa-hda-dkms package doesn't help (there is no "Inverted Internal Mic"
entry in alsamixer after reboot).

Removed alsa-hda-dkms and tried "option snd-hda-intel model=auto" but it
doesn't help.

Workaround "mute right channel" works but can it be fixed permanently (I
don't want to manually mute right mic channel every time I use skype)?

Title:
[meta-bug] Inverted Internal microphone (phase inversion)

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This is a metabug for all machines that are having phase inverted
  internal microphones.

If your internal mic is either completely silent (no signal), or you
can possibly pick a very small sound, with much background noise, even
though you have set gain to maximum, there is something you could try.

Install the pavucontrol application, start it and go to the "Input Devices"
tab. Unlock the channels (there is a keylock icon), then mute the right channel
while keeping the left channel at the volume you want.
If the internal mic is now working correctly, you have an inverted internal
mic, so that your right channel cancels out the left one.

(If you're not running PulseAudio, you can try doing the same through
AlsaMixer instead (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/Alsamixer ), try
changing "Capture" level or "Internal Mic" or "Internal Mic Boost"
  using the Q,E,Z,C keys.)

If so, please file a separate bug against the alsa-driver for your
issue, make sure hardware info gets attached to it (either alsa-info
as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo or the standard ones
that follows when you do "ubuntu-bug alsa-driver" ), then write a
comment in this bug, with your machine name and a pointer to the other
  bug.

As time permits, I'll try to work on fixing them for the next Ubuntu release.
Thanks!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1369673] Re: LibreOffice kde file dialog integration broken (not working) in 14.04

2014-09-21 Thread Nikola Snele
You can remove libreoffice-kde and install libreoffice-gtk. That way you
will get gnome file dialog which is better than generic one which now
pops up with libreoffice-kde installed.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1369673] Re: LibreOffice kde file dialog integration broken (not working) in 14.04

2014-09-16 Thread Nikola Snele
@Adolfo Jayme (fitojb)

With installed libreoffice-kde this bug appears.

I have removed libreoffice-kde and installed libreoffice-gtk to
workaround this bug (to get decent file dialog).

So I don't think this bug is invalid.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1294666] Re: [HSW mesa kde needs Xorg-1.15.1] Multiple tiling-esque artifacts in KDE

2014-04-15 Thread Nikola Snele
I think you should reset kwin to default settings. This is what I did:

1) Update system
2) Log out and ctrl+alt+f1 and log in
3) sudo service lightdm stop
4) rm ~/.kde/share/config/kwinrc
5) sudo reboot
