  I tried to report another bug from within a network which requires the use of 
a http proxy server with proxy user name and proxy password. http and https 
proxy, user name and password are configured in gnome's 
system->settings->network-proxy ( I am using the German language menu, but this 
should be the English names ). If a http proxy is configured, then it should be 
used.

Once I start thunderbird it takes not even a second to finish.
