[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1195725] Re: Nautilus window jumping with dual monitors
Thanks for your bug report. I'll confirm this, as from the ask ubuntu link there are two people experiencing this problem. Not sure how to fix it though, sorry! Could you please run apport-collect 1195725 in a terminal? That will attach some relevant debugging information to this report. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1195725 Title: Nautilus window jumping with dual monitors Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Not sure whether this is a Nautilus bug or window manager bug, but here goes ... A bug report has already been filed at askubuntu : http://askubuntu.com/questions/279641/nautilus-dual-monitor-issue I have a dual monitor setup (big desktop style where mouse goes from one screen to the other) in Precise 12.04.2 with my laptop on the left and external screen on the right. I have an ATI Radeon HD3635 card using fglrx drivers and I'm always using the Gnome Classic (No effects) environment. What happens: 1. Open Nautilus program on ext screen and maximize it 2. Double click on a random folder 3. The Nautilus window jumps to the laptop screen What should happen: 1. Open Nautilus program on ext screen and maximize it 2. Double click on a random folder 3. The Nautilus window should stay where it is. On the ext screen. When it doesn't happen: 1. Open Nautilus program on ext screen and make sure it's not maximized 2. Double click on random folder 3. The Nautilus window stays on the ext screen I also have a startup script doing this: /usr/bin/xrandr --output CRT1 --right-of LVDS /usr/bin/xrandr --output CRT1 --primary Where CRT1 is the ext screen and LVDS is laptop screen. Any help is appreciated, even more because Precise stays supported until 2017. Sure, no problem. It's likely that this isn't a problem with the Ubuntu packaging of empathy, and will need to be addressed by the folks over at GNOME. Could you possibly report this to the empathy developers at their bug tracker? The URL is here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/ After you do that please post the link to your bug here so I can link the bugs on launchpad. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 919027] Re: headphone which works windows platform does not work in Linux partition having Ubuntu
Hi there, Thanks for your bug report. You're running Ubuntu 10.10. It may be prudent to upgrade to 11.04, or preferably 11.10, as it's possible that you're problem is fixed in a newer version of Ubuntu. Also, 10.10 will no longer be supported starting in April, so there's another reason to upgrade! I'll mark this as confirmed again on the Ubuntu side of things, as it appears to be a valid issue that is not due to user error. ** Changed in: empathy (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891811 Title: Yahoo account fails to login Status in Chat app, and Telepathy user interface: Incomplete Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ever since installing 11.10 I cannot login to my Yahoo account. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 891811] Re: Yahoo account fails to login
This is marked incomplete because the upstream folks marked the upstream report as such, and the bug tracker automatically carries changes that occur upstream over. They asked for haze's logs, if you'd like to comment upstream and attach those logs. You can get them from the helpdebug menu. Otherwise, we can just wait for the person who forwarded the bug upstream to attach those logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891811 Title: Yahoo account fails to login Status in Chat app, and Telepathy user interface: Incomplete Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ever since installing 11.10 I cannot login to my Yahoo account. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 894006] Re: Troubles with printer.
Thanks for your bug report. I packaged this against CUPS, as it concerns a printing problem. Could you please run the following command in a terminal: apport-collect 894006 That will add relevant debugging and system information regarding printing problems to your report, as this was originally packaged against gedit. Also, I see that your bug report isn't in English. Could you possibly translate it? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 886667] Re: boot moves desktop icons
Thanks for attaching the information. This sounds like a good idea to optimize search times, but this is more of a feature request and I suspect we should avoid an Ubuntu delta for it. Would you mind opening a bug/feature request against Thunderbird on Bugzilla for this? That way the Thunderbird developers can determine if this can be incorporated into their search algorithm, and if it would benefit the majority of users, as it's possible the current behavior is based on usage data showing that, on average, users search for old mail more often than recent mail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885542 Title: thunderbird email search should begin with the most recent email then progress to the oldest (what the user is searching for is more likely to be in recent rather than older emails) Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: This becomes more problematic the more email a user has to search. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 877088 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877088 Thank you for your report. This has already been reported in bug 877088, so I am marking this as a duplicate. To do this, I go to the Network pane, then the Network Proxy sub-pane. Under Method I select Automatic and enter the correct Configuration URL. Then I press Apply System wide. My web browser now can connect to the Internet. However, applications like Update Manager, and Ubuntu Software Center, and even apt-get in the command line fail to communicate with ANY package repository servers. Checking /etc/apt/apt.conf, I see the file is empty. To reproduce this issue: 1. With a computer that does not connect to the Internet via proxy, isolate the computer behind a firewall which forwards all Web traffic (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP) to a content-filtering proxy server. 2. In gnome-control-center, go to Network - Network Proxy, and set the method to Automatic, filling in the correct URL for the proxy configuration file. The same problem seems to occur if you configure the proxy settings manually. 3. Press the Apply system wide button. 4. Open Update Manager and press Check and/or Install Updates. FAILS -- package updates appear to begin to download, but eventually times-out and reports an error. 5. Check /etc/apt/apt.conf, it should be empty (or unchanged by gnome-control-center). Work-around: As a root user, modify /etc/apt/apt.conf by hand with content like: Acquire::http::proxy http://proxy.serv.org:8080/;; Acquire::https::proxy https://proxy.serv.org:8080/;; Acquire::ftp::proxy ftp://proxy.serv.org:8080/;; Acquire::socks::proxy socks://proxy.serv.org:8080/; ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic-pae 3.0.4 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic-pae i686 ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Oct 21 13:22:24 2011 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-10-14 (6 days ago) usr_lib_gnome-control-center: deja-dup 20.0-0ubuntu3 gnome-bluetooth3.2.0-0ubuntu2 indicator-datetime 0.3.1-0ubuntu1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/879223/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Without this, neither Chrome nor Firefox will attempt to tunnel through socks. As a workaround, set this value manually using gconf-editor. Reproduce by setting up a socks server using the standard ssh -D port user@remote_machine. Attempt to configure the system-wide proxy by entering localhost and port into the new 11.10 proxy configuration utility's socks server fields. Open Chrome or Firefox and change the app's proxy settings to use system. Notice that no HTTP traffic tunnels through the system socks proxy. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 877610] Re: After regional formats are set to Dutch on an English system, Software Center asks permission using a mixture of Dutch and English
Please include the version of Ubuntu that you are running in your report. Under 11.10 64 bit I was unable to reproduce your exact problem; the prompt requesting elevated privileges from the software center was fully translated. A prompt requesting elevated privileges for changing proxy settings was not fully translated, however, as the title was in English System policy prevents setting proxy settings. It's possible other prompts aren't fully translated as well, so this should certainly be looked into. Did you ensure that you set not only regional formats to dutch but also the system language to dutch?
