[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1781815] Re: Using the 'roboto' package with lua/xelatex the font isn't loaded due to naming missmatch.
So I emailed the maintainer and in the updated version of the package this problem was resolved. His advice is 'that the files should be consistently old or consistently new.' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to texlive-extra in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1781815 Title: Using the 'roboto' package with lua/xelatex the font isn't loaded due to naming missmatch. Status in texlive-extra package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Using this mwe: \documentclass{report} \usepackage{roboto} \begin{document} Hello World! \end{document} Only a document gets created using pdflatex but not with lua- or xelatex. latex starts looking for (among others) these fonts: Roboto-RegularItalic RobotoCondensed-RegularItalic Which fails because neither of these (and possibly others) aren't packaged with Ubuntu under that name, but as e.g. `Roboto-Italic`, which seems like the proper naming convention. I mean, if you look on Google's Roboto font site https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto?selection.family=Roboto there is mention of a Regular Italic but the zip file you can download packages it as Italic (sans Regular). So shouldn't latex (roboto.sty) be looking for `Roboto-Italic` and `RobotoCondensed-Italic`?
