Microphone not working in Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on new hp-
  spectre-x360-convertible-15 laptop

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Internal Microphone does not work in Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS in a new hp-
spectre-x360-convertible-15 laptop. The microphone works perfectly on
Windows 10 (present in Dual boot mode).

Initially, Internal Microphone was not even detected but installing
alsa-tools-gui and overriding pin 0x12 to the Internal Microphone
fixed that issue. [Pin 0x13 does not work and causes static in a
headphone if it is plugged in.]

Microphone is not able to pick up any sound. I changed levels/settings in
alsamixer, pavucontrol without any success:
In alsamixer: Experimented with levels ranging from very low to very high for
Internal Mic, Capture, etc.
In pavucontrol: Set the Internal Mic as a fallback device, unlocked the
channels for the mic, experimented with reducing the level for one of the
channels (reduced right mic level to Silence while keeping the left mic level
normal/high and vice versa).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1784485] Re: [ZenBook S UX391UA, Realtek ALC294, Mic, Internal] No sound at all

2019-01-15 Thread Thales Loiola Raveli
Hello guys,

I followed your discussion to try to solve my problem. Now sound works
in my PC, but I've got some other problems that came with.

My PC is an Asus UX333FN, and I'm currently running on Ubuntu 18.04 with
kernel 4.20. It came with 4.15.0.29.31 originally.

When following the steps to install new kernels, above 4.18, I always
get these messages :

(This time I was trying to install 4.18 for example)

As I said, sound works, but my problem now is apparently the NVIDIA Card
(it has a Geforce MX150). Sometimes my screen and my mouse freeze, and I
also get something like in the attached picture. I also need to press
two times the Fn keys for it to start working, which didn't happen with
the other kernel.

Has someone faced the same problem?

Thank you a lot

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 879266] Re: gnome clock 'copy date' ignores custom format

2013-04-25 Thread Thales MG
I use Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome Classic and I'm also affected by this bug.
I see this bug is quite old... Can't anyone fix this??
Also, it seems to ignore locale settings... But that is another bug...

Title:
gnome clock 'copy date' ignores custom format

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
run gconf and change the clock app's format to a custom one. On my
system (ubuntu 11.04 using custom desktop) it is
/apps/panel/applets/applet_0/prefs. Enter 'custom' for 'format' and
  (eg) '%Y/%b/%d (%a)' for 'custom_format'. Quit gconf.

You should see the custom format displayed in the clock as (eg)
  '2011/Oct/21 (Fri)'.

Now, right click on the clock and select 'copy date'. Paste somewhere.

Observe that instead of '2011/Oct/21 (Fri)' you get 'Friday, 21
  October 2011'.

Please consider implementing a change to make the 'copy date' option
copy what is displayed and not ... something else.

Clock 2.32.1 - difficult to tell what package this is in (would be
nice to have in the 'about'), but I'm guessing it is /usr/lob/gnome-
panel/clock-applet which is part of gnome-panel versino
  1:2.32.1-0ubuntu6.5.
