[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1356840] Re: compiz+gedit mouse curser disappearing
I knew I wasn't the only one! Very annoying bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1356840 Title: compiz+gedit mouse curser disappearing Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After typing some text in gedit, the mouse curser does not appear. After switching to another window and back, everything is normal again. I use Ubuntu 14.04 with Unity, with the included free driver for AMD video cards. No related costumized packages installed. I have no idea whether it is gedit or compiz or Xorg, I could not reproduce the bug with other programs (text boxes in browser, libreoffice etc.). My other computer (Thinkpad X60 with Intel video card) does not show this behavior. I made a screencast to demonstrate the phenomenon: - First few seconds: Curser is fine - After typing some characters: Curser hardly visible - After switching windows: Everything fine again Please try to reproduce the behavior. The bug has been around for some months, not only the latest version, but now I got really annoyed by not being able to use the mouse to select text. I can confirm this very annoying bug with i915 driver (on Lenovo x220). It creates all sorts of graphical difficulties in Chromium (no vsync, no interpolation of fullscreen videos, and of course no WebGL) LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 is a good fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1371834 Title: Chrome causes segfault in i965_dri.so Status in Chromium Browser: Unknown Status in “mesa” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in Debian GNU/Linux: New Bug description: Running chrome 38.0.2125.66-1 on Ubuntu 14.10, on Lenovo X230 When I start a new instance of chrome, it cannot enable WebGL. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 991707] Re: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often
Although I'm no longer on Ubuntu, I can confirm this issue is affecting me on a fresh install of Debian Testing. I have the same machine as Angelicfury1, Thinkpad T530 (which is how I ended up here). I figured I would add some additional info: This issue occurs reliably for me every time the machine wakes from sleep. The cursor is stuck in position, and the touchpad functions as if the middle button is being held down. In other words, the touchpad is stuck in "scroll" mode. As with the others, dropping to a different runlevel and back "fixes" the issue. This problem did NOT occur on Ubuntu 12.10 with the latest kernel and drivers from that release, though it's possible my xorg config somehow prevented this issue from occurring. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991707 Title: Mouse pointer (touchpad) gets stuck often Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: In my Ubuntu 12.04, my mouse pointer gets stuck often. I'm talking about the touchpad and not the external mouse. The first thought would be to check whether we have given the option to lock the touchpad while typing. But, my pointer (touchpad) gets stuck simply often. The slightest of deductions I have been able to make is that this happens sometimes just after using the touchpad scrolling.
