[Desktop-packages] [Bug 448492] Re: "Media player device error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample():..."

2013-04-01 Thread Toby Corkindale
I'm using Ubuntu 12.10, rhythmbox 2.97, and a Nexus 7.
I have the same issue everyone else is reporting.. very annoying when
transferring a lot of songs!

Title:
  "Media player device error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample():..."

Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application:
  New
Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: rhythmbox

This is on Karmic Beta (amd64) using Rhythmbox 0.12.5:
When I transfer audio over to my MTP device (A Samsung YP-U3), with every
track I transfer, an error window pops up and announces: "Media player device
error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): object type doesn't support
RepresentativeSampleData."
This pops up for every track I had transferred (so it gets to be troublesome
when I move hundreds of songs, because then I need to wait and click "Close"
hundreds of times).
Interestingly, everything seems to play perfectly fine in the MTP device.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1193229] [NEW] Rhythmbox seeks ahead or crashes when resuming from pause

2013-06-20 Thread Toby Corkindale
Public bug reported:

I'm using Rhythmbox on Ubuntu 13.04.
If I pause the music, wait for a short while, then un-pause the music, it
instead seeks ahead very rapidly, silently. When the current song end is
reached (in just a couple of seconds) it will move to the next track and
rapidly seek straight through it as well.

If I pause again, then wait a few seconds, and un-pause, the player UI
freezes entirely, and I have to use the command line to kill rhythmbox.

Note that when I was searching for prior bug reports or fixes for this, I came
across a couple of other people mentioning this problem online, however they
were on forums, and did not appear to have found solutions.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 830840] Re: Chat window will not open

2012-01-17 Thread Toby Corkindale
I'm seeing this in Empathy too; if I try to open a new chat window from
the Empathy Contact List, nothing happens.

But if I start a new conversation from the Gnome Contacts list, then
open a new chat with that user in Empathy, it works.

What gives?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 850649] Re: gnome-terminal extremely slow and display buggy

2011-10-19 Thread Toby Corkindale
This effects me.. however it's not just gnome-terminal, but google
chrome and firefox as well.

Basically, ALL window activity seems to be sluggish now.

This is on a Core i7 system, nVidia Quadro GPU, lots of RAM and a fast
RAID array. It ran very snappily under Gnome in Natty!
