The latest version of all Slovenian dictionaries is in the LO code and available also at the LO extensions repository (last year we did some updates also to the hyphenation, these changes might not be included, but I cannot confirm this): http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/slovenian-dictionary-pack Please do package the Slovenian thesaurus with Ubuntu LibreOffice, it is an official part of the LibreOffice! The leak is around 200 bytes (one XEvent) per frame or about 12.5KB per second. It is most noticeable if some application is continuously redrawing during this time. But only if the application itself does not sync to vblank. For example: KVM, QEMU or: env vblank_mode=0 glxgears WORKAROUNDS: 1. Before leaving/locking the PC run ccsm, and in the OpenGL section disable "Sync To VBlank". 2. Before leaving/locking the PC, minimize all active windows. 3. Install fglrx driver from AMD/ATI. But then you'll have bug 969860. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: There are two issues. Compiz has a memory leak so it expands to take up all memory plus swap (12 + 4 gig) Unity shows a blank screen and does not come up with a login prompt, only the mouse pointer is displayed. ctl+alt F1 works so you can get into a console and create the attached bug report. This was after killing vviewer and before restarting lightdm I was running KVM and vviewer as well and killed vviewer but still did not get get login screen Killed compiz which freed the memory still did not get login screen had to restart lightdm to get back into Unity and restart everything. Open Catalyst Control Center. 2. Go to 3D > More Settings. 3. Set "Wait for vertical refresh" to "On, unless application specifies". And if that doesn't work, then also do: 4. Run "ccsm" 5. In Workarounds, enable "Force full screen redraw (buffer swap) on repaint". WORKAROUND (2): 1. Run ccsm (from package compizconfig-settings-manager) 2. In OpenGL > Sync To VBlank = OFF TEST CASE: 1. Monitor compiz CPU usage (from /proc//stat or top in batch mode) 2. In "brightness and lock" settings set "Turn screen off when inactive" to 1 minute 3. Wait until screen turns off 4. Move mouse or press a key to turn screen back on 5. Check the CPU usage from the monitor ACTUAL RESULT: When screen turns off compiz goes to 100% When the screen turns back on, cpu usage drops immediately to a normal value The graph attached shows %CPU of compiz with a sample per second. ** Changed in: nvidia-drivers-ubuntu Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92599 Title: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver Status in Compiz: Fix Released Status in Compiz Core: Fix Released Status in NVIDIA Drivers Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in Ubutter: Making Ubuntu buttery smooth: Fix Released Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: The problem here is that incorrect information from the NVIDIA driver is tricking some software like Compiz into using an incorrect refresh rate, which makes the whole desktop look choppy. The cause of this framerate problem is the DynamicTwinView feature of the NVIDIA graphics driver. It appears to be a documented "feature" of the driver, and has been for several years: --- Quote from the NVIDIA documentation --- Option "DynamicTwinView" "boolean" Enable or disable support for dynamically configuring TwinView on this X screen. When DynamicTwinView is enabled (the default), the refresh rate of a mode (reported through XF86VidMode or XRandR) does not correctly report the refresh rate, but instead is a unique number such that each MetaMode has a different value. This is to guarantee that MetaModes can be uniquely identified by XRandR. When DynamicTwinView is disabled, the refresh rate reported through XRandR will be accurate, but NV-CONTROL clients such as nvidia-settings will not be able to dynamically manipulate the X screen's MetaModes. TwinView can still be configured from the X config file when DynamicTwinView is disabled. Default: DynamicTwinView is enabled. --- End quote --- [http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/280.13/README/xconfigoptions.html] WORKAROUND (1) (in /etc/X11/xorg.conf) Section "Device" Option "DynamicTwinView" "False" EndSection If the workaround doesn't work for you and you still see stuttering/jerkiness then you probably have bug 888039, which is caused by other performance regressions in the Ubuntu 11.10 release. WORKAROUND (2) CCSM > Composite > Detect Refresh Rate = OFF Refresh Rate = 60 (or whatever is correct for you monitor) ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Binary package hint: xorg My Samsung SyncMaster 931BF does actually support 75 hz screen refresh rate, but xorg lets me choose only between 50 Hz and 54 Hz. Modification of /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not help. xorg worked ok on edgy.
