In addition to '--hide' not being accepted (needs to be purged from the 
manual), '--no-start' option is accepted but is not working.  That is
user@scomp:~$ rhythmbox-client --no-start --print-playing-format "%tN – %te / 
%td"
does bring up rhythmbox UI
