Title:
Response from pinging broadcast address does not reflect the actual
  sender address.

Status in iputils package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, when I ping the broadcast address (in my case the
eth1 is 172.22.1.65/16):
ping -Ieth1 -b 255.255.255.255
  OR
ping -b 172.22.255.255

The response from multiple host are NOT reflected properly. Intead the
subsequent response are marked (DUP!) BUT stamped with the same
address of the first received response.

  Ex:
  rtp-lab@wks65lnx:~$ ping -Ieth1 -bc2 255.255.255.255
  WARNING: pinging broadcast address
  PING 255.255.255.255 (255.255.255.255) from 172.22.1.65 eth1: 56(84) bytes of
data.
  64 bytes from 172.22.0.10: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.634 ms
  64 bytes from 172.22.0.10: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=0.647 ms (DUP!)
  64 bytes from 172.22.0.10: icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=0.648 ms (DUP!)
  64 bytes from 172.22.0.10: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=1.83 ms (DUP!)
  64 bytes from 172.22.0.10: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.566 ms

From wireshark/tcpdump, I can confirmed that those 3 duplicates
packets are coming from different hosts: 172.22.2.1, 172.22.0.10 (2
replies, not sure why, but not important in this case), and
172.22.1.65 (itself, I allow the node to answer broadcasted ping for
  this test).

  rtp-lab@wks65lnx:~$ sudo tcpdump -ni eth1

listening on eth1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535 bytes

The issue was NOT see in Ubuntu 12.04 Server. While those replies are
marked (DUP!) HOWEVER the 'from' address are correct.

I'm 30. My skin has never been very breakout prone, but I've always had
issues with dryness, and associated overproduction of oil. Until I
started building my routine here I had no idea how sensitive my
skin is. Previously, I was using the Clinique three step routine and
it was much too harsh for my skin. Since starting this new routine
the dryness and associated oiliness have been dramatically reduced.

At this point, I think my main concerns is continuing to eliminate the
dry/oily patches and getting my skin to a normal texture. I've already
made progress but there's still a lot of room for improvement. Beyond that, I
would love to continue preventing wrinkles. I'm very fair skinned so I've
never spent much time without sunscreen but I also haven't been diligent
about using it every day.

Ultimate goal, I guess, is to end up an old lady with skin like my
great grandmother. She was 99 when she died and she consistently
looked 20 years younger than her age because she avoided the sun and
took very good care of her skin.

Title:
file-roller : suggest program to install upon unrecognized format

Status in file-roller package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
If I try to open an unsupported archive format (eg RAR) with file-roller, an
error just tells me that the RAR format in not supported. Thus, I might just
think it is a missing feature in the program, although the solution (install
the
  appropriate package) is pretty easy.

Should't file-roller just provide a little more information in these error
messages, maybe by suggesting which packages to install in order to be able to
open the desired format ? I don't know how relevant this is, since it is
basically distro-based (name of the packages... ?).

Or a simpler solution : since zip/unzip, rar/unrar (nad maybe others) are
fairly
small packages, shouldn't file-roller just depend on them, so that you get a
complete, full-featured tool for any format, out of the box ?

I say take it to the next level this year:

1. Weigh yourself immediately before and after, if possible. Get the weight
of your poo each time and do the math at the end of the year.
2. Note the amount of tp squares you use and how many ply it is. Estimate
how many rolls of tp you used at the end of the year.
3. Note the day/time of your poo, average when you're most likely to go
throughout the day.

I'm a full time student at the moment. This last quarter I had a lot
of files on google drive and the website my school used for
grades/professor communication and assignments. So I'd like something
like a tablet to be able to organize all that stuff on while being able
to make stuff like power points or record lectures. I use a google
calender that I update frequently so having a tablet would help
instead of the much smaller screen on my LG G2 phone.

I don't draw a lot, never have done it on a tablet before but I suppose I could
give it a shot. /u/anon2lol could show me the stuff he does.

As for gaming, I wouldn't really care much since I have this rig for
it at the moment. I'd rather just netflix or whatever.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1547611] [NEW] Response from pinging broadcast address does not reflect the actual sender address.

2016-02-22 Thread Edo
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, when I ping the broadcast address (in my case the eth1
is 172.22.1.65/16):
  ping -Ieth1 -b 255.255.255.255
OR
  ping -b 172.22.255.255

The response from multiple host are NOT reflected properly. Intead the
subsequent response are marked (DUP!) BUT stamped with the same address
of the first received response.

Ex:
rtp-lab@wks65lnx:~$ ping -Ieth1 -bc2 255.255.255.255

>From wireshark/tcpdump, I can confirmed that those 3 duplicates packets
are coming from different hosts: 172.22.2.1, 172.22.0.10 (2 replies, not
sure why, but not important in this case), and 172.22.1.65 (itself, I
allow the node to answer broadcasted ping for this test).

rtp-lab@wks65lnx:~$ sudo tcpdump -ni eth1
