Bug description:
I am requesting a blanket UI Freeze exception for all flavor wallpaper
packages in advance of the upcoming UI Freeze for a period of 5 days
after it starts. The Noble wallpapers for vanilla Ubuntu will be
available on March 18th, which only gives flavors 2 days to create
  their customized wallpapers.

This is a very tight deadline, and we'd like to avoid putting the
burden on flavors to request individual UIFe's or forcing them to rush
update their wallpaper to make the deadline.

I'd appreciate your support on granting this exception.

Okay, we will test it in the near future, and if there are any problems,

Hi,

With the fcitx items in the current seed, I think pkg_depends don't need
to pull in the fcitx 4 packages for Ubuntu Kylin 21.10, also it's okay
to pull in the fcitx 5 packages, since the im-config will set the
default input method to fcitx 4 for Ubuntu Kylin 21.10?

After talking to our partners such as Sogou, they want to postpone this
migration until 22.04 so that they have enough time to work on the
adaptation, is this possible?

Thanks,

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1899376] Re: Confusing versioning of language-selector

2020-10-12 Thread handsome_feng
First of all, sorry for the inconvenience. I have deleted the package
from the PPA and will make a statement about this issue.

We made that change was because the sogou input method conflicted with
fcitx-ui-qimpanel and they needed to hijack the same dbus. We came up
with this bad idea when we couldn't change the Sogou input code, not
realizing the potential problems that could follow.

Now we're communicating with Sogou to find another way to fix the
problem, thanks!

Bug description:
My attention was called to the existence of version 0.304 of language-
  selector in some of the
PPAs. It happened in a rather annoying way:

  https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/request-better-arabic-font-for-
  ubuntu-20-04/14573/183

I don't know how 'official' those PPAs are, but I see that the only
difference compared to language-selector in the official Ubuntu
archive is that users are not prompted to pull the fcitx-ui-qimpanel
  package.

Ok.. So maybe it's no longer suitable for UKUI to install that
package. But if that's the case, how about handling that in the
  official language-selector version?

  * If it's no longer useful for any Fcitx users, we could simply drop
  it from pkg_depends

  * If it's still useful for non-UKUI Fcitx users, we could stop
language-selector from pulling it for UKUI users

In any case it's highly desirable to get away from a situation where
some users have a version of language-selector which blocks them from
  updates.

Please let me know how you think this should best be handled.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1832656] Re: chromium-browser deb->snap transition breaks ubuntukylin image builds

2019-06-17 Thread handsome_feng
Hi, Steve,

You are right, ubuntu kylin daily failed to build due to "failed to get
details for 'chromium' in 'stable/ubuntu-19.10' on 'amd64': No revision
was found in the Store.", So which is the correct way to seeds chromium?
Should I change the seeds entry to something like "snap:
chromium/stable" or just wait chromium release to the
stable/ubuntu-19.10 channel?

Thanks in advance!

I have updated the ubuntukylin seeds, and made a debdiff of ubuntukylin-
meta, could some help to upload it? Thanks!

Bug description:
We need to package mutter 3.31 and add a Breaks: mutter < 3.31 to
  gsettings-desktop-schemas.

Running gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.31 with mutter 3.30 will result in
  gdm/gnome-shell being unable to start.

Also, ukwm is a fork of mutter so the Kylin devs need to backport the
  relevant commits from mutter.

  The problematic gsettings commit was:
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gsettings-desktop-schemas/commit/c7eee129c

I think the mutter commits can be found at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/merge_requests/133

We could easily add a dummy key with the old name but I'm thinking the
way forward is just to package the newer mutter.
