[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1093909] Re: Nautilus don't show network computers

2016-07-06 Thread jonesints
This is still an issue in 16.04. Is it a regression? I'm pretty sure many
releases ago Nautilus was able to show shared machines in LAN, allowing to
quickly browse through them.
The only option at the minute is to Connect To Server and type in addresses
manually

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 783730] Re: Unable to exclude files by extension/filetype

2013-08-21 Thread jonesints
I'm not sure why this is considered of low importance: excluding file
types is something essential in any backup system. Considering this is
the official back up solution on Ubuntu, I'd consider changing the
priority!

Title:
Unable to exclude files by extension/filetype

Status in “deja-dup” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: deja-dup

There is no option to *not* backup files with certain filetype/extensions.
It would be useful to set exclusion based on filetypes.
eg: .vdi files; while I could set an exclusion for the .VirtualBox folder,
this would just also ignore the VB setup files too. It would be useful to
backup the setup files while excluding the massive .vdi.
or. .avi files; usually I download videos to ~/Downloads folder along with
other files I download. While I dont require backups of the Downloaded videos,
I would like to be able to backup other files that I download to that folder,
so setting an exclusion for ~/Downloads folder does not help here.

An option such as Do not backup files of filetype is useful when we
do not require backups for the filetypes.

  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10
