Oh my god! This put me into a lot of troubles this morning! How will a non-tech person deal with this issue??? Please look into this common, basic feature. Gnome have dismissed this issue. I find this outrageous. How are you supposed to locate a file changed on a specific date, e.g. a photo? Try to copy and paste. It should work. 8. Try to rename again, and open new tab. 9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no way to restore, except opening a new window.
