[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1539513] Re: networkmanager segfaults with 3.2.21-1ubuntu1

2016-02-01 Thread klemens_u
Oh my god! This put me into a lot of troubles this morning! How will a
non-tech person deal with this issue???

Workaround for me:

- Plugin in ethernet cable ("wired")
- Open Terminal
- sudo ifconfig eth0 up && dhclient eth0
- sudo apt-get install libnl-3-200=3.2.21-1 libnl-genl-3-200=3.2.21-1
libnl-route-3-200=3.2.21-1
reboot

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1412239] Re: Full date and time cannot be viewed in modified list view column

2015-02-16 Thread klemens_u
Please look into this common, basic feature.

Gnome have dismissed this issue. I find this outrageous. How are you
supposed to locate a file changed on a specific date, e.g. a photo?

Now it's up to you Ubuntu guys!

Here's a users's patch which at least adds a custom selectable full
datetime column, which would be fine as a solution.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1322925] Re: [SRU] Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-18 Thread klemens_u
I can confirm this very annoying behaviour on my newly setup Ubuntu
14.04LTS. A quick fix would be highly appreciated.

[SRU] Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

Status in Nautilus:
  Fix Released
Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in nautilus source package in Trusty:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  The title says it.

Since upgrade to 14.04, copy / cut / paste of files among various
folders I have write rights on does not work most of the times.

Using the terminal to copy / move does work normally.

  nautilus:
Installed: 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.1
Candidate: 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.1
Version table:
   *** 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.1 0
  500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main i386
Packages
  100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
   1:3.10.1-0ubuntu8 0
  500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main i386 Packages

  [Test Case]

  1. Open a Nautilus window and switch to List view
  2. Go to location with write permission
  3. Select a file and try to rename.
  4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab.
  5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied
and pasted.
  6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still
selected, unselect it.
  7. Try to copy and paste. It should work.
  8. Try to rename again, and open new tab.
  9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no
way to restore, except opening a new window.

  [Regression Potential]

  Already fixed upstream with

https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=8032628adc9c8286050716d609c574dc7273dfcb
