[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1945063] Re: Ubuntu Dock Bug with window minimize when having Dock at the bottom

This morning I noticed this bug can be reproduced not just by having the
Dock at the bottom but also in the default location of left, and I am
pretty sure the same case if you have it on the right as well.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1902969] Re: Thunder freezes UI when changing from title bars to CSD

2020-11-05 Thread motang
Hello,

These are the steps to reproduce it for both .deb and snap versions.
Once Thunderbird is open, right click around the tab bar and choose customize.
Once in that window, choose either to show title bar or hide (depending on what
you have already done prior). Close the customize window, but you will notice
there are two dots beside Thunderbird icon on Ubuntu dock indicating it has two
windows open. If you click on Thunderbird the UI locks. If you by chance do not
click on the icon on Ubuntu dock you can clear off the extra dot by restarted
GNOME UI by typing 'r' in run dialog for x.org. Not sure if this is
reproduceable under Wayland.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1294689] Re: Firefox doesn't use dolphin to open download directory

2020-01-05 Thread motang
Using Kubuntu 19.10 with KDE 5.17 (via backports) with Firefox 71. This
seems to be the case to me as well. Won't open Dolphin from download.

Title:
Firefox doesn't use dolphin to open download directory

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Under KDE, if from the download screen I ask to open the folder, I get
a strange application, called files, to be spawned to browse the
directory, instead of the more natural Dolphin. I am using Kubuntu.

  How to reproduce:
  1. Start Firefox under KDE
  2. Download any file from the Internet
  3. Open the Download page
  4. Within the downloaded file entry, click on the small "folder" icon on the
right and wait a little bit

  Expected result:
Dolphin file system browser to be started

  Actual result:
A programm called "files" from GNOME environment is started. Most of the
icons in the program are missing as I am running KDE from Kubuntu.
This happens 100% of the times.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1753183] [NEW] Not able to do quick calculation via GNOME Activities

2018-03-03 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 17.10 I was able to press the Super key and do simple math
quickly (i.e. 40/5 would give me answer of 8), not so with 18.04
testing. Is this due to the fact that GNOME Calculator application is a
snap app? Also Calculator is missing in Search options in GNOME
Settings.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1728462] Re: No badge or progress bar for Firefox with Ubuntu Dock

2017-10-31 Thread motang
Getting notifications from web services. For instance I opted to get
notification from YouTube and Facebook, I get notification pop down, but
no badges.

On this note, do I need a Firefox extension for progress bar and badges
to work? If so will that disable multi=processing?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1709725] Re: the updates tab states that the system is uptodate when it's not

2017-08-31 Thread motang
Well that's a shame, as now it is more confusing. IF a user happens to
go to the section and clicks on refresh but the app comes back and
states that the system is up to date. Yet the update manager has a slew
of updates waiting, it is a bit misleading. Honestly, I think we should
just use Gnome/Ubuntu Software to update our system, and the Update
Manager should be retired or only used in case of dist-upgrade.

Launch Ubuntu Software click on Updates then click on Refresh on top
left. This used to work and populate packages that needed to be updated.
Not any more, just shows message that "Software up to date" yet Update
Manager has updates pending.
