Last 2 crashes were opening system settings and browsing /home folder
Happens continuously and the desktop icon get gone. have to open desktop folder 
from Places menu to get the desktop to show again
Ubuntu 14.04.6 , linux-image-4.4.0-246-generic but happen with 
linux-image-4.4.0-148-generic also

For me this is still happening and I have other problems with nautilus
such as desktop icons disappearing when there is activity like open or
close nautilus or firefox. The same happend in ubutnu-gnome 14.04 LTS ad
now 16.04 LTS. I was dragged into updating to 16 as support told me no
help as this was my problem, but 16 has been a bad choice for me and
this older computer. Very unhappy
