I tried comment #60 and it does not work for me. My file looks like that
but after a restart i am still unable to connect.

My file looks like that now

#!/bin/sh
set -e

if [ "$2" = "suspend" ] || [ "$2" = "hybrid-sleep" ]; then
case "$1" in
pre) /sbin/wpa_cli suspend ;;
post) $(sleep 10;/sbin/wpa_cli resume) & ;;

Bug description:
  Description:Ubuntu Yakkety Yak (development branch)
  Release:16.10
  Packages:
  libnm-glib-vpn1:amd64 1.2.2-0ubuntu2
  libnm-glib4:amd64 1.2.2-0ubuntu2
  libnm-util2:amd64 1.2.2-0ubuntu2
  libnm0:amd641.2.2-0ubuntu2
  network-manager 1.2.2-0ubuntu2

  Reproduce steps:
  1. Install fwts by `sudo apt-get install fwts`.
  2. Run the suspend & resume stress test.
  sudo fwts s3 --s3-multiple=30 --s3-min-delay=5 --s3-max-delay=5
--s3-delay-delta=5

  Expected result:
  The WiFi still functioned.

  Actual result:
The WiFi can not connect to any access point and we have to execute `sudo
wpa_cli scan` manually to make it work again.

P.S. Ubuntu 16.04 also has the same issue.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-11-08 Thread taiebot65
Here my feedback from installing silo 10 as per bug #1462664. I have
been walking to town today and did not notice any lag for the time i was
in town. Normally i am experiencing some hangs of more than 1 min before
i can get a working phone. Today i checked repeatedly my phone and it
did wake up like a normal phone it would be nice if someone could
confirm this behaviour. I did get though a lot of dialog menu as per
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1508563. This is
less problematic than missing phone calls because the phone is slow as
hell because of this bug.

Bug description:
  Krillin, rc-proposed, r83

  DESCRIPTION:
I've been trying to track down the cause of the occasional UI freezes on my
Krillin device, and I noticed that whenever the UI freezes for 2-4 seconds, I
get a burst of "PropertiesChanged" signals in dbus-monitor

  Here's a log of what's shown in dbus-monitor:
  http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/11992322/

I'd guess the problem is in the code that actually catches the signals
  and acts accordingly.

  HOW TO REPRODUCE:
  1) Move to a place where many wifi hotspots are available
  2) Connect the device via USB and run "phablet-shell" and then "dbus-monitor"
  3) Use the device while keeping an eye on dbus-monitor output

  rtl8187 drops connection

Status in The Linux Kernel:

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “lynx” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I have a ASUS P5K motherboard with integrated wireless based on
rtl8187. In Hardy (haven't tried other Ubuntu versions) the
connection often suddenly fails, with the software not noticing
  anything.

Nothing is logged in dmesg or syslog except for (sometimes): WEP decrypt
failed (ICV)
I have noticed this string also appears in the log at times when the
interface does _not_ fail.

The computer continues on oblivious to the fact that it has just lost
its network connection (networkmanager is not installed, but gnome's
network monitor applet indicates a good connection). In fact, a
wireshark dump indicates that the computer still thinks it is sending
802.11 frames, but monitoring from another computer (with a reliable
wireless driver) indicates that nothing is being sent from the
affected computer, even while the AP is chugging along trying to
contact a host which has mysteriously dropped offline. I have noticed
this problem across kernel images (2.6.24-3-generic and
2.6.24-4-generic to be specific). In one instance, I found that
modprobing the module out and back in again fixed it, while another
time this caused modprobe to use 100% CPU and become unresponsive,
even to kill signals (Yeah, the kill -9 kind).

If any more information is necessary please ask and I'll do my best.

  This also effects Intrepid Ibex/2.6.27-7-generic

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1091610] Re: Using NM, Wi-Fi disconnects with heavy traffic; doesn't happen with wicd or Windows 7 -- Realtek RTL8191SEvA

2013-03-29 Thread taiebot65
I confirm the bug and the replacement of WN with WICD solves the problem.
Confirmed on Lubuntu 12.10
Linux home 3.5.0-27-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 19 23:40:01 UTC 2013 i686
i686 i686 GNU/Linux

I can reproduce the wifi connection loss when i am trying to upload a
big file to my samba share.

Using NM, Wi-Fi disconnects with heavy traffic; doesn't happen with
  wicd or Windows 7 -- Realtek RTL8191SEvA

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am running 12.04, on an asus 1201n EEEPC and the wifi connection
drops out during sustained heavy traffic, eg video conf.

When I boot the same amchine to WIN7, there is no problem, ever.

There seems to be no way to get the connection back without rebooting.

I am at a loss as to how to proceed, but am very willing to help out.

Please let me know, I am desperate.

Thanks, your faithful Ubuntu supporter from day-0,
  Bob
