Public bug reported: My motherboard is based on NVidia 8200. I am using this machine as a HTPC running Kodi. The system was running fine using Ubuntu 12.04. However, after upgrading to 14.04 the nouveau driver is sometimes causing crashes. To fix these problems I tried to install a proprietary NVidia driver. The latest driver will crash UBuntu completely after launching Kodi. While trying to activate the 304 driver the system did take several minutes and the progress bar stopped moving. After rebooting the machine the current error was reported. It's strange that there are so many problems with Trusty. I wish I had never upgraded my HTPC. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1176043] Re: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-removal-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück
I have recently upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS on my Lenovo E525. The system was running perfectly on 12.04. Unfortunately, the were several problems after upgrading. Google Earth did no longer work. I was required to install the recent version. After that, Googe Earth did crash with the infamous SIGSEGV. A flash application did crash under reproducible conditions. I have resolved all of these problems by installing the nouveau driver. This resulted in a complete removal of the not working fglrx driver which did cause this 2 year old bug. I think it's a shame for ATI/AMD that these guys are still producing drivers which are far away from beeing production ready. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176043 Title: package fglrx (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-removal-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück Status in fglrx-installer package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I followed the instructions under "Removing Catalyst/fglrx" from: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Raring_Installation_Guide#Black_screen_after_uninstalling_old_amd_drivers The second command (apt-get autoremove --purge) failed: sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx 'fglrx_*' 'fglrx-amdcccle*' 'fglrx-dev*' Paketlisten werden gelesen... [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1314486] Re: Flash videos disappears/underlays when using Fullscreen mode.
The issue can be fixed by installing the following Gnome extension: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/851/flash-fullscreen-fix/. It would be nice if the functionality of this extension could be integrated into gnome-shell by default. It is a desaster if flash videos could not be played in a desktop environment. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314486 Title: Flash videos disappears/underlays when using Fullscreen mode. In 13.10, the same would occur, but the workaround was to look for the "underlayed fullscreen icon/fullscreen plugin container", in the activities bar.
