[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1721401] Re: eog fails to open png: Failed to register: Timeout was reached
I have another 18.04.3 installation on this computer, on a WD5000, that also uses TWM. The 27 second display does not happen. On that system, I notice a difference in time for the very first execution of eog to the next. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1721401] Re: eog fails to open png: Failed to register: Timeout was reached
I have this problem. Ubuntu 18.04.3 4.15.0-58-generic kernel X and TWM. Some gnome things are running... eog image1.jpg takes 27 seconds to open a window. Sometimes, I get 'Failed to register: Timeout was reached' message and eog is terminated. This happens when I have TWM as the desktop. With gdm3, this does not seem to happen. ** Attachment added: "output of ps ax" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/1721401/+attachment/5285119/+files/ps-output -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to eog in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1721401 Title: eog fails to open png: Failed to register: Timeout was reached Status in eog package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: eog fails to open PNG file.
