[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1932328] Re: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows
I have same problem: Ubuntu 21.10 Gnome 40.4.40 Wayland Thunderbird 91.3.1, and miss the ALT+TAB-Switch really !!! But the work around of #54 (which is new for me, thanks!!!) is fine and helpful: I take ALT+ESC instead of ALT+TAB (which switches directly to the next window(s). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932328 Title: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows Status in GNOME Shell: Unknown Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: New Status in gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Using Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute) that starts in Wayland, by default. Thunderbird version: 78.11.0 with "gnome-support" package. Same problem in safe mode. Description: By default in this context, TB is a Wayland task. When opening a compose windows (or reply or transfer), sending mail apparently close the windows, but gnome shell continue to show multiple "points", as if multiple windows are still active. And after closing TB, it seems maintained in the same state, so it becomes impossible to relaunch it from the desk. But task manager of "looking glass" does not show it and it is possible to launch from terminal. Provisional solution: Modify .desktop file to launch with --display=:0 option, that force to use XWayland interface, as shown by xlsclients (for example). But it is actually a bug under Wayland context, that also badly interfer with many add-ons or extensions. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1304004 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304004 Thank You for this information! My private workaround is, to take Deluge instead for torrent-files; since transmission is working again. Best regards Wolfgang Am 2014-06-01 23:52, schrieb Paul Gauret: *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1304004 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304004 I guess #1304004 is marked private as it relates to a security package. Good news is that I found a workaround by downgrading to libcurl3-gnutls_7.35.0-1ubuntu1. So far Transmission is stable with it even under high load. Bad news is that this particular version has a couple of nasty security bugs and that you have to be extremely careful if downgrading, as this library is shared with many other applications and that you may be exposed. I will mark this bug as affecting libcurl3-gnutls and see what its maintainer thinks. My guess is that the security fixes recently applied somehow break Transmission. ** Also affects: curl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to transmission in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324564 Title: transmission-gtk crashed with SIGSEGV in gnutls_x509_crt_import() Status in “gnutls26” package in Ubuntu: New Status in “transmission” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I just made a download of this torrent: http://www.stresslinux.org/sl/downloads/52.torrent Then double click on the download-file stresslinux_32bit_11.4.i686-0.7.106.iso.bz2.torrent = transmission started (shortly) and crashed. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 970979] Re: Chromiun freezes computer - requires hard power-off
For me it's the same, but only since i updated from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04. Usually it appears, when i have more tabs in the browser opened. What i can see, is, that HDD-LED ist very busy. The only thing, what happens is, that mouse moves sometimes a little bit. Other things do not work, nor any keys no STRG+ALT+BACKSPACE no STRG+ALT+Fx Sometimes, but seldom a ALT+F4 in browser works and closes chromium Version 34.0.1847.116 Ubuntu 14.04 aura (260972) Installed of official repositories of 14.04 Plugins (2): Chromoting Viewer + Adobe Flash Player - Version: 13.0.0.182 Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0 Extensions (4): AdBlock 2.6.29 + Delicious Bookmarks 3.1 + DuckDuckGo for Chrome 42.5.17 + Session Manager 3.4.6 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970979 Title: Chromiun freezes computer - requires hard power-off Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have an intermittent but frequent problem (several times a day) where my system locks up while using Chromium-browser. Seems to be most often associated with flash video but not always (unless there is some flash video playing automatically in a tab I have open somewhere that I don't know about). In some cases, audio will continue, but everything else stops. I can move my mouse, but mouse events trigger no action. My keyboard is ignored. I can't switch to another app or even switch to a non-gui console (ctrl-alt-fn). Even my system monitor application indicator freezes. The only solution seems to be hard power down. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 149540] Re: rhythmbox-metadata crashed with SIGSEGV
Thanks for information, walter-garcia. I can reproduce the bug and launch a new bug report. But i don't know, what to do. I don't want to open a new bug. But when i mark as duplicate, i don't know how to attach my bug report. I have read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs My only idea is, to reproduce, to send bug information via a new bug report, and then mark as a duplicate of #149540 again ...??? The bug happens, when: i start rhythmbox with double click on a mp3-file in nautilus rhythmbox starts, hard disk makes a lot of activity, after a while (30 sec) rhythmbox becomes grey an stands still (still a lot of activity on hard disk) then i force to quit rhythmbox = bug report starts when i do the same, but open before the double click in nautilus, rhythmbox without a file, it works fine. That means: 1) Open Rhythmbox 2) Double click on a mp3-file = rhythmbox starts playing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149540 Title: rhythmbox-metadata crashed with SIGSEGV Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: rhythmbox New, last updated 2007-10-05 ProblemType: Crash Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Oct 5 20:28:12 2007 Disassembly: 0xb5e79e12: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/rhythmbox/rhythmbox-metadata NonfreeKernelModules: cdrom Package: rhythmbox 0.11.2-0ubuntu4 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: /usr/lib/rhythmbox/rhythmbox-metadata unix:tmpdir=/tmp ProcCwd: /home/twister ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Signal: 11 SourcePackage: rhythmbox Stacktrace: #0 0xb5e79e12 in ??
