[Desktop-packages] [Bug 864735] Re: [ATI HDMI] HDMI Audio Disabled by Default (since oneiric)
Like RoberKH reported, HDMI audio does not work in 14.04 new installation no matter what is done (adding radeon.audio=1 line to /etc/default/grub or using xrandr) though ubuntu documentation states it should work without any modification (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver#HDMI_Audio). Here are the details: $ uname -srm Linux 3.13.0-32-generic x86_64 $ grep -Rn radeon.audio /etc/default/grub 11:GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash radeon.audio=1" $ xrandr --output HDMI-0 --set audio on $ lspci -v | grep VGA Flags: bus master, VGA palette snoop, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 64 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1181137] [NEW] Highlight text to copy, right+left click to paste and multitouch scrolling stopped working
Public bug reported: After installing the xserver-xorg-input-wizardpen driver, the synaptic touchpad partially stopped working (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2105398&s=a5f4a81a76df267cda0701225cee7d70&p=12643120#post12643120) $ uname -a Linux toshiba0 3.5.0-29-generic #49~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 8 00:08:45 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux 1. The mouse cursor froze only for synaptic touchpad ( cursor was working fine with mouse and pc tablet). Which was solved with: #echo "options psmouse proto=imps" > /etc/modprobe.d/modules.conf 2. Classic *nix highlight text to copy and right+left click to paste stopped working, This is also applicable in between applications using mouse. 50-synaptics.conf reads like: Section "InputClass" Identifier "touchpad catchall" Driver "synaptics" MatchIsTouchpad "on" MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Option "TapButton1" "1" Option "TapButton2" "2" Option "TapButton3" "3" Option "VertEdgeScroll" "on" Option "VertTwoFingerScroll" "on" Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "on" Option "HorizTwoFingerScroll" "on" Option "CircularScrolling" "on" Option "CircScrollTrigger" "2" Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "40" Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinW" "8" Option "CoastingSpeed" "0 # This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be # enabled by default. Disabled the touchpad section in 10-evdev.conf which has no effect. 4. Right side scrolling and double-finger scrolling stopped working (working fine earlier) 5. synclient -l reports "Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?" although the drivers are loaded as follows: $ dpkg -l | grep synaptics ii xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2 Synaptics TouchPad driver for X.Org server $ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep synap -i [82.692] (II) config/udev: Adding input device PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (/dev/input/event6) [82.692] (**) PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Applying InputClass "evdev pointer catchall" [82.692] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad' [82.692] (**) PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: always reports core events [82.692] (**) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Device: "/dev/input/event6" [82.693] (--) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Vendor 0x2 Product 0x1 [82.693] (--) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Found 3 mouse buttons [82.693] (--) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Found relative axes [82.693] (--) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Found x and y relative axes [82.693] (II) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: Configuring as mouse [82.693] (**) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 [82.693] (**) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: EmulateWheelButton: 4, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout: 200 [82.693] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" (type: MOUSE, id 11) [82.693] (II) evdev: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad: initialized for relative axes.
