Title:
libreoffice and firefox don't respect text zoom settings

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal 64bit.

System settings -> Universal Access -> View gives the user(possible
view impaired one) the opportunity to adjust the system wide text
  size.

  Good thing!

But the standard programs like Firefox or LibreOffice are not adjusted
by this central settings as far as their menues are affected.

So, the user experience for view impaired users is that they have to
bring their heads everytime they start to use one of this standard
programs direct to the screen and search for the menue zoom settings
in those programs, which is a strange task for them.

  Expected:

With the Universal Access -> View text size settings it should be
possible to adjust also the menu size in the not canonical standard
program in the unity launcher panel, which are Firefox and
  LibreOffice.

Q:You are saying that firefox and libreoffice don't respect the text
size setting, that seems a bug in those softwares, in works on precise
though

A: You can give the cause for the behaviour to the programs, but this is
in every case correct.

The problem of the user keeps that he/she wants (and needs) one central
point(unversal access) where could be made the change to the most
important programs of the desktop as far as accessibility is affected.

2012-05-31 Thread melchiaros
For firefox is a clarification needed.

It affects the textsize of the tabs.

On this scrrenshot you see the textsize on "normal" for the only tab
opened.

The text in the firefox window itself is on maximum zoom adjusted with
firefox abilities only.
