[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1015831] Re: palimpsest segfault error 4 in libgdu-gtk.so
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users. ** Changed in: gnome-disk-utility (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015831 Title: palimpsest segfault error 4 in libgdu-gtk.so Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have a 12.04 system running on my desktop on an internal SSD drive. I just added a 500 Gig hard drive to the system and used the Disk Utility to format it and create a single partition on it. This all appeared to have worked, as I can read and write files on the new partition. However, I can't seem use the Disk Utility to test the disk. If I bring up the SMART Data panel and then click on either Refresh or Run Self-Test then the Disk Utility dies and in the log I see something like: Jun 19 16:47:24 vector kernel: [ 1579.461730] palimpsest[3917]: segfault at 0 ip b6e8123a sp bff22100 error 4 in libgdu- gtk.so.0.0.0[b6e68000+4a000] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: gnome-disk-utility 3.0.2-2ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-25.40-generic-pae 3.2.18 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-25-generic-pae i686 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Jun 20 16:27:52 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release i386 (20120423) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-disk-utility UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1015831/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1015831] Re: palimpsest segfault error 4 in libgdu-gtk.so
I have an old Dell Inspiron 1525 notebook with ATA WDC WD1200BEVS-75UST0 hard drive and if I going to refresh SMART status, I get this error. Further to that, Self-diagnosis show a status: Cancelled (hardware or software fail) Ubuntu 12.04. On former Ubuntu releases everything was ok and my hard drive is ok - I checked it in Windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015831 Title: palimpsest segfault error 4 in libgdu-gtk.so Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have a 12.04 system running on my desktop on an internal SSD drive.
