Also happens on Kubuntu 12.04 x64. Started *very* recently - about 24h ago for me. Keeps crashing constantly, I've removed the chromium's cache and config directory, tried using default skin - nothing helped. It just crashes silently randomly. The only message I could get is from dmesg (error like these): [ 3168.887219] chromium-browse[4185]: segfault at 7f7dc51a9ae0 ip 7f7dc51a9ae0 sp 7fff57078fa8 error 15 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1054557 Title: Chromium crashes silently Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: At seemingly random times, though often after launch, chromium exits with no error message. This has been happening to me for a while (a couple of weeks?), I just decided to report it now, so the fact that this is quite new may not be directly relevant. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1054557 Title: Chromium crashes silently Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: At seemingly random times, though often after launch, chromium exits with no error message. I'm not quite sure what the latest Chromium version in 12.04(.1) is, but until the ubuntu chromium ppa is updates, you may want to head over to http://www.webupd8.org/2012/09/new-chromium-stable-and-development.html I'm awaiting for he and ubuntu-ppa people to have a chat, hopefully we will get the ubuntu-ppa cromium back to being updated.
