Title:
Firefox Save, Save As dialogs do not appear

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
"Save" and "Save As" dialogs do not appear. "Open" dialog does work.

  "Save" does nothing.

"Save As" results in a region appearing momentarily in the lower part
of the current window, but it only appears for a moment and then
  disappears.

  Error Console reports the following:

  Error: NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE: Component returned failure
  code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)
  [nsIJSCID.getService] Source File:
  chrome://global/content/contentAreaUtils.js

This still happens after disabling all add-ons.

This still happens if I use another Firefox profile from the same user
  account.

This does NOT happen if I log in under another Ubuntu user account.

This does NOT happen under the same user account with another browser
  (ie Chrome).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1080163] Re: Firefox Save, Save As dialogs do not appear

2012-11-18 Thread icewater
More info: I also noticed that the downloads window is blank, not
listing any downloaded files. I used sqlite3 to open downloads.sqlite
directly and received an error message that suggested the file was
corrupted.

I deleted the file, restarted Firefox, and the Save issue was resolved.
