Bug description:
  Examples:
  When I start Empathy and immediately get an offline message, once I read the 
message the Launcher count isn't removed. The message indicator in the panel 
updates, but not the Launcher.

  When I retrieve a message, I get the notification and the panel
  message indicator updates and says I have a message, but the Launcher
  icon doesn't not have a count.
