[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1160709] Re: display drops out if more then 2 displays are plugged in

2013-03-30 Thread MasterCATZ
Ok this is a false alarm

after fresh install and update it still did it

booted of live Disk still did it

it seems my mainboard bios update has done something

F2A85X UP4 using Firmware v4 killed it , so gone back to firmware V3 and got
my display's back
its a shame I did not try that sooner I just lost a years worth of XBMC mysql
data base that I forgotten to back up

how to I change the status of this ? as its definatly bios related issue
now

Title:
display drops out if more then 2 displays are plugged in

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
A update done in the last week or so has rendered multimedia PC
  unusable

If I boot pc up with any more then 2x Monitors all I get are black
  screens

if I boot up with 1x display all is good , if I turn on projector
picture then moves onto projector display corrupted

I have tried reinstalling xorg , unity , compiz

removed all custom xorg , lightdm settings I had and it still does this

Pc used to boot up onto a separate desktop per display

  F7 was full desktop ( DVI )
F8 was XBMC ( on projector HDMI )
F9 was www guest account ( VGA )

workspace switcher used to expand out when other display's were turned on
any help to solve this is greatly appreciated , just give me the terminal
commands to get the info you need and I will do them

I am also about to try a FRESH install and see what happens

( upgrading to kernel 3.9rc4 also did not help )
