[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1177042] Re: Ubuntu wouldn't identify graphics chip and monitor
The issue is that the hardware is unable to query the EDID on the first monitor - you will need to specify the limits and possibly the modelines of that monitor manually for it to work properly. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1177042 Title: Ubuntu wouldn't identify graphics chip and monitor Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I only get 1024 x 768 resolution but my graphics chip (Intel 82945g) and my display monitor are capable of displaying greater than 1600 x 900 resolution. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1177042] Re: Ubuntu wouldn't identify graphics chip and monitor
Dear Sir, Forgive me for the trouble I gave you on this issue. I solved the problem by changing the display monitor and now I get the maximum resolution (1440 x 900) the new monitor can provide. I don't know why my previous (Spectre) monitor was not recognized although it had higher specs. Thank you.
