[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1177358] Re: black line garbage flickers onto screen every few minutes
Just a comment on this issue, that I reported some months ago for Ubuntu 13.10. After installing Ubuntu 14.04, this issue is not occurring again, at least in my system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1177358 Title: black line garbage flickers onto screen every few minutes Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 on a MacBookAir5,2. The machine has an Intel HD Graphics 4000 processor. Every few minutes, a bunch of garbage blank lines flickers onto the screen for a fraction of a second and then vanishes. I also saw this running 13.04 on the same machine, but never before that. It's impossible for me to capture a screenshot since it's completely unpredictable when this will happen. Adam Dingle, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-intel REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. I don't think so. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1177358] Re: black line garbage flickers onto screen every few minutes
OK, I can do that. I haven't seen the garbage since switching to UXA (though it's only been a few minutes). Hmm, that sounds like a display underrun. Can you please append drm.debug=6 to you kernel command line and upload the resultant dmesg? You will also want to track updates to the kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1177358 Title: black line garbage flickers onto screen every few minutes Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 on a MacBookAir5,2. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1177358] Re: black line garbage flickers onto screen every few minutes
I've modified my X configuration to use UXA rather than SNA.
