[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1238266] Re: "Error setting owner: Operation not permitted" when extracting Eclipse in saucy
Hello Marc-Andre, or anyone else affected, Accepted file-roller into saucy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file- roller/3.10.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1238266] Re: "Error setting owner: Operation not permitted" when extracting Eclipse in saucy
Mark-Andre, even when you unzip using command line 'tar' the eclipse distro is corrupted. When you run eclipse the main menu of the eclipse app is unable to show any content. When you click a menu item, the menu doesn't appear. The eclipse menu 'bar' shows up but is totally unusable. The other indication of a corruption is that the splashscreen has a bad appearance (hard to explain) but definiately indicates something has gone wrong with eclipse. This 'could' possibly be an eclipse bug, but at this point i'm willing to blame it on the ubuntu unzipping code. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to file-roller in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1238266 Title: "Error setting owner: Operation not permitted" when extracting Eclipse in saucy Status in File Roller: Fix Released Status in “file-roller” package in Ubuntu: Fix Committed Status in “file-roller” source package in Saucy: In Progress Bug description: Impact: some archives can't we uncompressed Test case: 1.
