Sebastien can you make this Won't Fix (or Invalid - your call)? The file menu, as well as all the others, have been removed from Nautilus, which is marvellous. Nemo, a fork of Nautilus which doesn't adore Unity, doesn't have this issue in Trusty or Xenial. Upgraded to Trusty and there is no change. Choosing "Properties" (this time from the little gear icon in the top right) gives me the properties of the directory I'm browsing, rather than the selected entry. Thank you for your bug report. You can right click on the file to open the properties as well, no need to use the command line. Could you try with a newer version to see if that's still an issue?
