Tried sudo cheese, or cheese -d "/dev/video0" with no luck. guvcview works with internal webcam. Hi, I don't know if this can help since I'm on a different distribution, but I had a similar problem which was caused by a too high default webcam resolution under cheese. Thanks for the suggestion Magus. It still doesn't work for me. My webcam may be broken then.
