See screenshot. I can get it to work again by turning off line numbers, closing gedit, reopening it, and then reenabling line numbers. However, if I close gedit and reopen it again, line numbers are again cut off. Something seems to be going wrong when the line numbers preference is enabled at gedit start up. Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu?
