[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1322181] Re: file-roller isn't properly opening some rar files

2014-06-26 Thread Monsta
Ah dammit! Linux Mint 17 has file-roller 3.6.3 pinned, and due to the
higher priority of the Mint repo you don't get the upstream version
which is newer (3.10.2.1). The older file-roller 3.6.3 has no proper
support for unrar 5.0, and this is the cause of this bug. Install file-
roller 3.10.2.1 to fix the problem:

apt install file-roller/trusty

Reassigned it to Mint since we don't have a fix here yet, only a
workaround.

** Package changed: file-roller (Ubuntu) = linuxmint

** Changed in: linuxmint
   Status: Invalid = Confirmed

** Summary changed:

- file-roller isn't properly opening some rar files
+ Mint 17: file-roller 3.6.3 is too old and doesn't support unrar 5.0

Zitoz, I suggest attaching the rars in question straight to this bug

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1322181] Re: file-roller isn't properly opening some rar files

2014-06-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
