I also experience the same problem under same conditions. Hi again, I found a workaround: Open Gnome-Shell Activities menu and search for Network Connections Click on the "Add" button and select VPN on the list... You're now good to add your VPN settings... when saved, the VPN connection appear into the Gnome-Shell to right panel functions.
