[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1393688] Re: open *.ppt file in libreoffice Impress is abnormal
This was old report which should've gone to upstream LO. Repro up to LO 7.0 but not with LO 7.1. Fixed in https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131269. So I mark "Fix Released". ** Bug watch added: Document Foundation Bugzilla #131269 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131269 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393688 Title: open *.ppt file in libreoffice Impress is abnormal Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I have a *.ppt fromat file , use other office software is correct, but open with libreoffice impress is abnormal. the ppt file has thirty pages in it , but in libreoffice impress show one page, and the content is uncomplete. For me, the file opens in impress. I see only one (incomplete) slide, as shijing described. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1393688] Re: open *.ppt file in libreoffice Impress is abnormal
Tested on cosmic, version 6.1.2.1 (deb), and the file opens in impress by default, and indeed there's only one slide in it. Tested libreoffice 6.1.3.2 upstream build (debs), and the same is observed. So that may be an upstream problem (if the file is not corrupted in some way). @shijing: if you're still tracking this bug, would you mind filing an upstream bug report at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=LibreOffice&format=guided and sharing the link to that report here? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1393688] Re: open *.ppt file in libreoffice Impress is abnormal
shijing, so what happened for me in Trusty is that it opened the file in Writer, instead of Impress. I tried renaming the file to example.ppt but this didn't change anything. However, this does open up in Impress in Windows Vista with MASTER 4.4.0. As I've been able to open .ppt files before in Trusty, this would seem a downstream regression. I'll mark it Medium for now, and if it's a more wide-scoped, in that it is affecting more than just you and I, we may re-evaluate this. As a potential WORKAROUND, you could try the LibreOffice PPA -> https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/libreoffice-4-3 . ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => Medium ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged ** Tags removed: libreoffice ** Tags added: trusty utopic vivid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393688 Title: open *.ppt file in libreoffice Impress is abnormal Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I have a *.ppt fromat file , use other office software is correct, but open with libreoffice impress is abnormal. the ppt file has thirty pages in it , but in libreoffice impress show one page, and the content is uncomplete.
