When a bluetooth output device is paired no volume control thru
  indicator-sound

Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Test Case:
  pair a bluetooth speaker
  play an audio file

  What happens:
sound is output to the bluetooth speaker but no volume control is possible
thru the sound indicator or sound settings volume label
To get sound volume control one has to pick the bluetooth device in sound
setting

  What should happen:
once a speaker or headphones is paired sound settings should automatically
set that as the output device to enable volume control

: "The indicator and the volume
slider — identical to its counterpart in System Settings — should both
represent, and the slider should adjust, the volume of the active
output role through the primary sound output."

  : "If you connect any
audio output device that is not headphones, a headset, or a secondary
display, the primary output should change to that device."

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1404729] Re: When a bluetooth output device is paired no volume control thru indicator-sound

2016-03-07 Thread Xavi Garcia
The solution proposed points out that this is not an indicator-sound issue.
The indicator does not control which is the active output.

Adding pulseaudio package to the affected ones

** Also affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: indicator-sound (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed => Invalid

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1404729] Re: When a bluetooth output device is paired no volume control thru indicator-sound

2015-09-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
thanks for the bug report, the description is confusing though. You say
that there is no control for the device in the settings and then you
write that the device is listed and you can select it to control it...
in any case the indicator should ideally have a control for that as well

** Package changed: unity-control-center (Ubuntu) => indicator-sound
(Ubuntu)
