Title:
System does not suspend when lid closed

Status in unity-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Under Utopic closing the laptop lid would suspend the system. Since a
Vivid upgrade this no longer happens (the external screen goes blank
for about a second, then the desktop comes back as before)

The system power settings show "When lid is closed: suspend" as
  before, it just gets ignored.

The menu "suspend" option does suspend correctly.

I have the same problem with my Vivid installation. The laptop is a HP ProBook
470 G0.
When I close the lid, there are cases when it suspends, but in most of the
cases it doesn't.

The journalctl -b is attached, the journalctl -f shows this when the
suspend is ok:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1435269] Re: System does not suspend when lid closed

2015-03-26 Thread Martin Pitt
Hm, your journal doesn't seem to contain an attempt to suspend, so this
might have been blocked by the upper layers. As you said that suspend
works correctly with the indicator menu, this looks like a bug with
unity-system-settings.

** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) = unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
