I have the same problem on Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12. I have the same problem with my Vivid installation. The laptop is a HP ProBook 470 G0. When I close the lid, there are cases when it suspends, but in most of the cases it doesn't. Hm, your journal doesn't seem to contain an attempt to suspend, so this might have been blocked by the upper layers.
